We feel the way we feel. There is no should or shouldn't. It just is. I think I still struggle with this old tape sometimes. It was good to know I am not alone in that struggle.
As a result of our conversation, I felt inspired to journal a bit on one of my canvas sheets.
I added a little color. More to come. This will turn in to something. It felt good to spell it out.

Are you feeling it?

I'm feelin' it, Sistah!
I have noticed that if I say, "I AM sad, angry" etc.... My feelings are taken more seriously. If I say, "I feel sad." then that is when people think they need to help me change the way I feel or convince me that there is no reason for that particular emotion. I have never quite understood why this is. Maybe when I say, "I AM _____" that does not give others the opportunity to question as it is less possible to change how I AM. But if I am feeling a certain way, they think there are steps to take to change something that is in process.
I know this sounds confusing---but I have wondered about this for a really long time! I love the idea for a journal page.
I'm feeling it, too :) Love the feeling of empowerment you evoke with just letting it out on your journal page!
Totally with ya girlfriend!!
Oh I'm feelin it! Think we all need to make a conscious effort to eliminate the word 'should' from our vocabs!
you are so right, feelings are feelings. they are not right or wrong - they tell us were we are at the moment. It's what we do with those feelings that matters!
I do feel it...and could not agree more!
Feel it girl!!!! Love that you felt free enough to say it out loud! I really need to start using my journal more.
XOXO
