Oil Painting Class
I have never tried oils. Can you believe that? So, I am taking a class with local artist and friend Frank Pierce.
My hope is to gain a better understanding of capturing light and shadow.
I have never been a realistic painter, but I think that is because I never thought I could. I am learning that I can.
I am painting an image of sunflowers in a clear glass vase. I wanted to learn how to paint the glass and the stems in the glass as well. So far so good. I am pleased with what happened during my first evening of painting.
what say you?

It is awesome! I'm so glad you decided to take the class. Can't wait to see it finished.
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! Need I say more?? I've only really painted realistic paintings with watercolors, love doing florals with them. I think oils would be fun to do, I'm just afraid of getting into anything else!! Good going g/f!
I say, I am even a bigger fan. I know these will be fabulous when finished. Yeah!!!
i say you ROCK! not only CAN you paint realistically, you do so very well. i can only imagine that this piece is ever so much more lovely in person -- the colors are so rich! BRAVA!
Wow. Amy! You are doing a great job!
