I have been asking around recently about brush quality, and whether it makes a difference, and have had varying responses. At Hobby Lobby the other day I bought some modrately priced brushes on sale for 1/2 price. I don't know if the quality of the brushes was the difference, or if it was a mental thing brought on by having made the investment, but I am pleased with the result.
I painted this little chicadee from a reference photo I found on Wet Canvas. I hadn't thought I could paint realistically, but the new brushes inspired me to try. Voila! I guess I can!

I told ya, the better brushes make painting easier and you do better work because of it.
