From Big to Small

After working on bigger pieces for a couple of months, I felt the need to shrink a bit. I worked on some ACEOs today, and my shipment of mini canvases from Jerry's arrived today, so I am anxious to get to them.

The ACEOs are a continuation of my stitching experiments. I love to create highly patterned and colored painted papers. I had wanted to combine the papers into some graphic collages, but they seemd so busy. Then I tried stitching around each bit to set them off. It works! At least I think it does.

Wear My Art!

Jewelry! I have been having fun making jewelry! I have had an idea in my head for these paper pendants and earrings for a long time. So, I decided to go for it, and I am thrilled with the result.

They are paper collage done with mostly my handpainted papers, and text. I have added glitter or micro beads to some. They way fun and very light.





I have also refined my technique on these pendants featuring mini prints of my bird art. They are super cute, and quite popular.

Interactive Valentine on Canvas

It is COLD in my studio this AM. My kerosene heater is just not doing it yet. I am afraid by the time it warms up in here, it will be time to retrieve a small person from preschool!

I am continuing with my interactive hearts. I posted the genesis of this idea here several months ago. It was inspired by a Bible verse.

Proverbs 4:23 -Above all else guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.

I am enjoying these pieces. Lo and behold it is nearly Valentines day. Here's hoping folks think they are perfect Valentine gifts!

The one above is available in my ETSY store. It is on a 6"x6" Gallery Wrap canvas with a 1.5" deep edge.

I used my hand carved stamps and a new printing technique with old lace samples that I am super excited about. Anyone want a tutorial? I may need to post one!
