Amazing Day!

Please forgive me if I ramble and this is short. I am tired and elated all at once. We met Meselech this morning, and spent a little more than an hour with her. It was a little chaotic because all of the other children were around us wanting attetion, and a cameraman was video taping. Once we had her in our arms though, everything else faded away. She is utterly beautiful. She has the brightest smile have ever seen. She is quite petite, and one of the youngest children at the toddler center. She was vey happy to have us hold her. After a little while I toook her in my arms and started singing 'Bless the Baby' she laid her head on my shoulder and snuggled into me, and rested ther just being peaceful and comfortable for at least 20 minutes. She is VERY healthy. The nannies say she is a quiet child, who loves to be held and hugged. I have to say here how obviously wonderful the care is here. These children are loved.
We watched the children eat their lunch, and then we left when they took their naps. In the afternoon, we came back to the center, and the kids were still napping, but they brought Messa out. Another couple was there, and their son, Wodajo, is 3. He came out too. We all went around to the front yard, and we spent 2 hours hugging and kissing and playing and laughing. Messa can say her ABC's. At the end of our time together, one of the workers asked her where mommy was and she pointed at me and smiled her huge smile. Then he asked where daddy was and she pointed at him and smiled again.
I can say that our day was more marvelous than I ever imagined it could be.
Tomorrow we go to Hosanna for the day in hopes of meeting some of the birth family. It will be hard to be away from her all day. I think that on Tuesday, Messa will be coming back with us to the guest house.
